Position Description
Translation Commons is looking for a Content Coordinator to work on content development, and content management within its Website, Social Media projects. If you are passionate about the language industry, website, social media and believe in promoting online communities then please reach out to us. Here is a brief role description of what we are looking for :
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise between internal teams, marketing, social media team, content owners, advisors, and the web team to curate content and edit requests.
- Incorporate images, videos, branding, and typefaces for consistency, mapping them to content and writing style guidelines.
- Check for copyright issues, accessibility compliance, and content accuracy (misspellings, grammatical errors, image reuse, cropping, audio, video).
- Work closely with the marketing and graphics teams to ensure high-quality imagery is free of copyright restrictions and that owners retain permissions.
- Review content with content owners and advisors to ensure consistency and integrity, and distribute content according to posting guidelines.
- Check videos and multimedia/streaming content for closed captions, subtitling, and language translations using internal or industry-standard tools.
- Understand content upload and creation guidelines across social media platforms and blogs, including rules for downloads and cross-linking.
- Optimize keywords and collaborate with other teams to create engaging text, image, and video content to increase web presence.
Ideal Qualifications and Commitment
- Hands-on content writing and editing skills with strong grammar and language proficiency.
- Good understanding of how websites, social media platforms, campaigns, and digital marketing tools work.
- Familiarity with SEO, WordPress, Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet), and ChatGPT.
- Available for remote volunteering during PST/MST timezones.
