Translation Commons is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to providing a reliable and scalable method for digitally rendering languages. Our mission is to solve the problem of unrepresented languages struggling to participate in a global communications network, and since 2015, we have successfully helped digitize numerous endangered languages.

Overview

We are looking for a strategic and curious Product Marketing Manager to help Translation Commons communicate the value of its tools, initiatives, and digital products to different audiences. This role focuses on positioning, messaging, user understanding, and product-related communication.
The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with Marketing, Product, and Community teams to help explain complex ideas clearly and connect TC solutions with the needs of volunteers, researchers, organizations, and language communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear positioning and messaging for TC products, tools, and initiatives
  • Conduct basic competitor and audience research to identify opportunities and gaps
  • Help explain complex product features in simple, user-friendly language.
  • Collaborate with Content, Design, and Traffic teams on product-related campaigns and launches.
  • Create or support product-related materials such as landing pages, presentations, newsletters, blog posts, and onboarding content.
  • Gather user feedback and help identify communication or adoption challenges.
  • Support awareness and engagement strategies for projects such as LangNav and language digitization initiatives.

Ideal Skills

  • Experience in product marketing, SaaS marketing, communications, or content strategy.
  • Ability to simplify technical or complex topics into clear messaging.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation and user journeys.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Interest in technology, digital inclusion, localization, or language-related initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams is a plus.
