Position Description

The Translation Commons Localization Group is seeking volunteer Localization Project Managers (LPMs) and Project Coordinators (LPCs) to support multilingual projects. These roles are fully remote, volunteer-based, and provide practical experience in international localization workflows.

Key Responsibilities(LPM)

  • Define project scope, type, and schedule.
  • Assign translators and reviewers with input from language leads.
  • Coordinate and host project kickoff meetings.
  • Document project details in TMS/trackers.
  • Monitor progress and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure translators and reviewers have necessary resources and permissions.
  • Act as liaison across teams and encourage collaboration.

Key Responsibilities(LPC)

  • Prepare and format project files.
  • Support communication between linguists and project managers.
  • Record issues and assist with troubleshooting.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage distributed teams.
  • Experience with TMS or project management tools preferred.
  • Weekly commitment of ~5 hours.
