Position Description
The Translation Commons Localization Group is seeking volunteer translators to support global projects that advance linguistic equity and digital access. This is a remote, volunteer opportunity open to both students and professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate (English) source material into the target language.
- Post-edit machine translation or LLM-generated output as required.
- Follow the style guide and glossary.
- Use a CAT Tool (Smartcat) for translation.
- Communicate with project managers about questions, issues, or delays.
Desired Skills
- Fluent/native speaker of the target language.
- Good understanding of English as the source language.
- Experience or strong interest in translation across diverse content types.
- Ability to commit at least 2 hours per week during assigned projects.
