Seneca, the Roman dramatist and rhetorician, wrote, “You will greatly enhance your reputation if you give old words new meaning.” No language stays the same and neither do the tools we use nor our community. Everything changes. We constantly coin new words and phrases, extend the meaning of the words we use and drop archaic ones. Supposedly dead languages like Latin find new life in the hands of enthusiasts as they update and innovate.
