Mentoring Programs in Translation and Interpreting
ProZ.com mentoring program
"The ProZ.com mentoring program is an initiative intended to provide a means for full members to meet other members who are well-established enough to take on an apprentice.
The program is particularly useful for members who, for example, have completed formal training in translation or who have acquired translation knowledge, but have a lack of practical experience. Site members seeking advice on translation business-related topics are also welcomed.
For mentors, the program represents a useful means not only of sharing their experience, but also of finding new partners for growing translation teams (the program may prove similar to the "internship" programs that often lead to full-time employment in other industries)."

"The ALTA Emerging Translator Mentorship Program is designed to facilitate and establish a close working relationship between an experienced translator and an emerging translator on a project selected by the emerging translator. The mentorship duration is approximately one year. The emerging translator is expected to choose a project that can be completed in a year’s time, and they will only be advised on that particular project."
CTA Mentoring Program
"The CTA Mentoring Program provides newcomers to the profession an opportunity to interact with and learn from seasoned CTA translators or interpreters. Mentees will be matched with an experienced CTA member who has volunteered to provide guidance and advice throughout the program’s one-year duration period. The program is free and runs from January through December. Participation is limited, so early applications are encouraged."
ATIA Mentorship Program
"If you are a certified ATIA member, you have the opportunity to benefit from developing a reciprocal mentorship relationship with an associate ATIA member.
As ATIA is piloting this project, we are currently in the first phase: mentor recruitment. If you are interested in the possibilities below, email our Development Coordinator, Nakita Valerio, at email@example.com today to be listed in our online directory as a willing mentor. "
