We believe in the power of language to bring together a vibrant community of volunteers
So you graduated, now what?
The Language Industry is one of the most multi-disciplinary ones, including translators, interpreters, terminologists, researchers, computational linguists, software engineers, testers, sales and business, project managers, recruiters, designers and so many more…
The opportunities are numerous and yet all our language graduates around the world are faced with the same dilemma. Straight out of college they lack specialization and experience to put them on any of these numerous career paths.
At Translation Commons we recognize this issue and we have created our entire Volunteer Framework to mitigate this problem.
How does it work?
The Translation Commons Volunteer Framework is like a language organization with real-life operations, positions and responsibilities.
Volunteers join the TC Operations Team which is divided in various volunteer groups that each cater for specific career paths. These positions are designed to provide essential training and familiarize volunteers with real life responsibilities. They are further broken down in manageable tasks that will only require 5-10 hours a week. Volunteers are also encouraged to rotate and try different groups to maximize their understanding.
